Crane R-III School District is seeking a caring, dependable, and patient PreK Paraprofessional to join our early childhood team.

 

The paraprofessional will work with preschool students under the direction of the classroom teacher and other school staff to support students' successful participation in classroom routines, learning activities, transitions, play, and social interactions.

 

Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting the classroom teacher with daily preschool routines and activities
• Providing individual and small-group support to students
• Supporting students with communication, social-emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs
• Modeling and reinforcing appropriate communication and interactions with peers
• Providing close supervision and assistance to maintain student safety
• Supporting students during transitions, meals, toileting, playground activities, and other daily routines
• Assisting students with personal care and independence skills as needed
• Implementing teacher-directed and IEP-related supports and strategies
• Collecting simple student data or documenting behaviors when requested
• Working collaboratively with teachers, special education staff, therapists, administrators, and families
• Maintaining student confidentiality and professional conduct

Applicants should enjoy working with young children and be able to remain calm, consistent, and supportive when students are frustrated or demonstrate challenging behaviors. The position requires active participation throughout the preschool day and may include sitting on the floor, bending, lifting, assisting with personal care, and responding quickly to maintain student safety.

 

Previous experience working with preschool-age children or students with developmental, communication, or behavioral needs is preferred but not required. Training and support will be provided.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

• Meet Title I paraprofessional qualification requirements by having at least 60 college credit hours, an associate degree or higher, or meeting the applicable assessment requirement; and
• Hold or be eligible to obtain a Missouri Substitute Certificate through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
• Successfully complete required background checks and other district employment requirements.
