The Crane R-III School District is seeking applicants for a full-time Special Education Paraprofessional for the 2026–2027 school year.

This position may support students in a variety of educational settings, including special education classrooms, one-to-one student support, and other instructional environments as determined by student needs.

The paraprofessional will assist students with academics, communication, behavior, social skills, daily routines, and building independence. Duties may include supporting classroom instruction, behavior support, transitions, personal care needs, and implementing teacher-directed activities throughout the school day.

This position requires patience, consistency, flexibility, and the ability to follow established routines and directions. The ideal candidate will work well as part of a team and build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

Applicants must meet paraprofessional requirements, including one of the following:

• 60 college hours
• Completion of the 20-hour DESE substitute training
• Holding a substitute certificate
• Passing the paraprofessional assessment
